Our bifolding doors are constructed using Smart Systems VISOFOLD folding sliding door system. Doors are manufactured using Polyamide thermally broken aluminium profiles for superior insulation and durability. The system uses bespoke aluminium extrusions specifically designed for folding sliding doors to ensure effortless operation for years to come.

Why choose aluminium bifold doors?

Whilst there are upvc folding sliding doors available these are generally designed using existing upvc window and door profiles which have been modified. These upvc bifolding doors are often restricted in size and configurations due to the weight of their bulky steel reinforced frames and many systems cannot offer the most popular 'open out' choice. In addition the hinges and gearing are often exposed which can provide security issues.

We only supply aluminium folding sliding doors as they are strong and durable with slim sightlines and can be specified to open in or out. The Smart Systems Visofold Bi-fold door system uses dedicated aluminium profiles specifically designed for the purpose and has a long pedigree having been used for many years in Europe and lately in the UK as a folding sliding door suitable for both domestic and commercial installations.

Easy to Operate

Our bi-folding doors slide effortlessly using bottom fitted dual rollers running on a dual track and also have the benefit of nylon guide rollers at the top which together with a combination of floating and sliding mullions ensures positive and easy movement of the individual door panels during the fold and slide operation.

High Security Locking Standard

Traffic door handle Our folding doors are fitted with high security locking systems to ensure your peace of mind. For doors without a traffic door operation of the shoot-bolt locking system is only accessible from the inside using the key operated lockable meeting stile twist handles. Doors with a traffic door will have a lever handle operated multi-point hook lock system fitted similar to a normal entrance door. The handle also includes a profile key cylinder deadlock facility which is accessible from both inside and outside enabling a conventional entrance door facility without opening up the complete door.

The locking mechanism and rollers are fully concealed when the door is closed providing an aesthetically pleasing and secure folding door solution.

Self-cleaning High Performance Double Glazing

As well as our high performance Tripleshield double glazing all bifold doors for external applications are now supplied with self-cleaning glass as standard at no extra cost. Our Tripleshield argon filled Low E double glazing has a 1.2 U value and sealed units are manufactured using a 'warm edge' spacer bar for optimum insulation.
